  Nora & Mance

Mance and Nora met at an early age and became the best of friends.  After which, they fell head over hills in love.  They believed they would be better together than alone.  With that belief, they decided to get married but Mama Mance would have no part of their getting hitched.  Confident that together they could accomplish anything, they headed for Dillion, South Carolina on June 4, 1945 where they joined hearts and hands because their love and dreams were not to be denided.  To hear him tell, it she promised to cook, clean and bear children for him. Speaking of accomplishing anything, she cooked, cleaned and bore thirteen children - eight girls and five boys.  Sixty years later, we have an inspiring legacy of love.  What an accomplishment.

Together they decided to share their love with the world.  As a couple, they have traveled and touched much of this world.  Their children have taken the influence of their great love into far reaching corners of the world.  The children constantly bless their home with joy and laughter as they share many of the positive aspects of their world.

Together they committed to growing a bond of love too strong to break.  Young Mance and Nora's love was proven early to be a strong bond as it endured a tour of duty in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and the challenges of raising thirteen children. Together they endured headaches and heartaches but the laughter shines brighter than the loneliness. Even with the heartaches, there was no question of their love for each other.  Not only does the bond of unbreakable love exist in their hearts, the love grew in the hearts of their thirteen children.  The force of love produced 34 grand children, 42 great- grands and 4 great- great- grand children, which stand as a living promise for future hope.
Mance and Nora have always lived a life of faith which has kept them true to God and each other. Their faith has formed within them a good - neighbor spirit.  Such a spirit is the force behind them literally giving their lives to serving others.
Their will to serve has presented them with many - up and down experiences in life but their love continued to flow and grow.  Their committment to side by side devotion continues to sustain them during today's good and bad times.
Observe and be inspired.
